White chocolate ghouls

Nothing says Halloween quite like ghostly apparitions. So, why not create edible phantoms using Hotel Chocolat’s creamy white chocolate?

  1. Melt our White Chocolate Batons until smooth and creamy.
  2. Using a silicone ghost mould, pour the melted chocolate in and refrigerate until set.
  3. Once set, gently demould your chocolate phantoms to bring them to life.
  4. With edible markers, gather the family to draw the ghostly eyes, mouths and accessories. Or, melt and pipe our Salted Caramel & Clementine Hot Chocolate Sachets for a citrusy, flavourful kick and personalise to your liking.
  5. Your ghoulish delights are now ready!

These ghouls are a perfect Halloween dessert idea that combine simplicity with fun, meaning the whole family can get involved. If you want to add a dash more colour to these treats, experiment with different food colouring. Who says ghosts can’t be green, or blue? Chocolate has no bounds when it comes to creativity.

Creep-tastic spider treats

Who can resist a spider when it’s covered in delicious chocolate? Not us…

  1. Melt some high-quality chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Depending on your flavour preference, you can either use our 70% Dark Chocolate Batons or our 40% Milk Chocolate Batons for a more mellow cacao hit.
  2. Drop dollops of melted chocolate on a piece of parchment paper, using a toothpick to draw out eight spindly legs.
  3. Before they set, place a chocolate-covered nut or candy in the centre as the spider’s body. Why not use a White Chocolate Oozy Eye from our Halloween H-Box, or a Dark Chocolate Salted Caramelised Almond?
  4. Allow to set in the fridge, and munch away at these little critters before they scatter away.

These spindly spiders are sure to be a hit at any Halloween gathering, or as an evening treat while watching a Halloween horror. They perfectly embody the fun behind DIY Halloween dessert recipes.

Bewitching decorated broomsticks

Fly your own way into the Halloween spirit with these broomstick delights. Personalise, decorate and accessorise with the whole family — there’s a broomstick flavour combination for everyone.

  1. Use pretzel sticks or breadsticks as the broom’s handle.
  2. Dip one end (or, the whole thing) into melted chocolate from Hotel Chocolat — will you choose Raspberry-White Chocolate Batons for an irresistible pink glow or go for our decadent Caramel Chocolate Batons?, For an added dash of flavour vibrancy, opt for some of our melted Peppermint Hot Chocolate or something other-worldly? The choice is yours.
  3. Attach Chocolate Gemstones and offerings from Cryptopher the Vampire, Carvin the Pumpkin, or Wingston the Bat.
  4. For an added magical touch, spin some sugar into delicate strands and wrap them around the broomstick’s end for a tantalising treat.

These broomsticks are the perfect DIY Halloween treats, merging creativity with luxury chocolate indulgence.

If you or your loved ones are plant-based, there’s no need to miss out on any of the halloween fun. Opt for our Vegan Chocolate Range for crumbled decorations, or melt the ghoulish night away away using our vegan orange chocolates, or our Vegan Dark 85% Hot Chocolate Pouch.

Frankenstein’s secret elixir

While treats are the traditional heart of Halloween, it would be rude to ignore the thirst-quenching drinks that complement them. After all, what will you use to wash down your Halloween food ideas?

Fear not — here’s a brew that’s bound to be a hit amongst anyone brave enough to taste it.

  1. Start by preparing our luxurious Vanilla White Hot Chocolate with the help of a Halloween-esque Charcoal Edition Velvetiser.
  2. Stir in a few drops of green food colouring until you achieve an eerily green hue.
  3. Top with whipped cream and some spooky toppings from our Halloween treats range.

Your elixir is now ready to be sipped or gobbled down whole. This beverage is a fantastic twist to traditional Halloween drink ideas and promises to be a favourite among the little monsters in your coven.

For the adult wizards and witches: A dark forest brew

Who says Halloweeen isn’t for adults? Chocolate has no age limit, and that’s why you can enjoy a few Halloween tipples this spooky season, with the help of our indulgent Hotel Chocolat Alcohol Range.

This dark forest brew utilises two of our autumnal flavoured spirits, perfect for creating a warming concoction.

  1. First, rim a cocktail glass with our Black Forest Velvetised Cream and then dip into Black Forest Gateau Hot Chocolate to give it a spooky, forest-like appearance.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
  3. Add 100 ml of Black Forest Velvetised Cream, 50 ml of Salted Caramel Cacao Vodka Liqueur, and 50 ml of heavy cream into the cocktail shaker for one person.
  4. Shake well until everything is mixed and the concoction is chilled.
  5. Strain the mix into the prepared cocktail glass.
  6. For an added spooky touch, you can drop a few chocolate-coated cherries into the glass. These will look like “witch’s eyes” lurking from the bottom.
  7. If you like, you can top the drink with a bit of whipped cream for some “misty fog”.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
