We took all the best parts of a classic Black Forest gateau and incorporated them into this sippable interpretation. First, we melted real chocolate, both dark and white, into warming vodka. This spirit has the ability to complement and lift the nuanced notes of cacao, rather than mask them. Next, we folded this chocolate-vodka pairing into cream, then, we brought in the pièce de résistance – a tangy duo of real black and morello cherries.
Our recommendation for the smoothest sip? Serve directly over ice into a long-stemmed glass for added sophistication. Dessert is served – no baking required.

This recipe is one of a handful of carefully curated Velvetised Cream recipes. The original – inspired by our passion for cacao – was first mixed at our Saint Lucian cacao farm and bar. It was here, where we grow some of our own cacao, that our chocolatiers experimented with several combinations before they discovered the magic of pairing cacao with crisp vodka – and the rest is history.
