Velvetised chocolate mousse recipe

Indulgent yet light, airy yet satisfying, our Velvetised chocolate mousse recipe is quick and easy to make. It’s perfect for satiating mid-week cacao cravings or for impressing guests at the push of a button.

To carry out this simple but effective Velvetiser dessert recipe, you’ll need:

To make your Velvetised chocolate mousse:

  1. First, add your cream or milk to the Velvetiser.
  2. Then pour your two hot chocolate sachets in, press the button, and let the Velvetiser work its magic.
  3. Once it’s ready, pour the mixture into your glasses, bowls, or ramekins and place them in the fridge to set. A couple of hours should do the trick.
  4. Slice your strawberries (you can add other fruit, too), and place them on your set mousse portions.
  5. Dig in, and enjoy!

Make it vegan

If you’re looking for a dairy-free Velvetiser mousse recipe, you can easily substitute the above ingredients for one of our vegan hot chocolate varieties. Swap the cream or milk for a vegan version, and you’ll be good to go.

Get your equipment and ingredients ready:

  • The Velvetiser
  • 120ml of vegan cream or milk alternative (oat milk is the best for a creamy texture)
  • Two single-serve 45% Nutmilk Hot Chocolate Sachets
  • Small glasses or ramekins (chilled)
  • Fresh raspberries

And for the method…

  1. As before, add your vegan milk or cream to the Velvetiser. A dairy-free cream alternative will give the thickest and most satisfying result.
  2. Next, pour your Nutmilk hot chocolate sachets into the Velvetiser.
  3. Press the button and wait for 2.5 minutes as the Velvetiser works.
  4. Pour the Velvetised mixture into your glasses or ramekins and place them in the fridge to set for at least two hours. If you opt for oat or soya milk, you may need to set your mousse for longer.
  5. Either place whole raspberries on the set mousse or crush the berries with a fork to create a refreshing coulis and drizzle it over.

Fruit kebabs with Velvetised chocolate sauce

If you’re looking for a dessert that unites healthy fruit with gorgeous melted chocolate, this Velvetiser recipe is for you. It’s quick to rustle up and will leave you feeling satisfied without being over-full.

What will you need?

  • The Velvetiser
  • Fresh fruit of your choice, chopped into bitesize chunks
  • Kebab skewers
  • 120ml of milk — dairy or plant-based
  • 70% Dark Hot Chocolate flakes
  • A ramekin or small bowl for dipping
  • Crushed nuts (optional)

Here’s the method:

  1. Assemble your kebabs by piercing pieces of fruit with your skewer, then set them aside.
  2. Pour 120ml of milk into the Velvetiser.
  3. Add 10 teaspoons of your hot chocolate flakes to the milk in the Velvetiser.
  4. Push the button and let the hot chocolate system whip, stir, and warm the mixture.
  5. Once the sauce is ready, pour it into a small bowl or ramekin and serve with your fruit kebabs immediately. (Remember, it’ll be thicker than your usual hot chocolate).
  6. Dip your fruit skewers into the chocolate sauce.
  7. If you like, you can have another bowl filled with crushed nuts. After dipping the fruit in the chocolate, roll it in the mixed nuts for an extra bit of crunch.

  • Add 220ml of dairy or plant milk to the Velvetiser.
  • Sprinkle in a single-serve sachet or 35g of our hot chocolate flakes.
  • Press the Velevetiser button and leave it for 2.5 minutes.
  • Pour the irresistible hot chocolate mixture into a Pod Cup or glass.
