Apple pie. A best-loved bake that’s been gracing dessert menus since the 1300s. Apples, baked to perfection until they’re gloriously caramelised, encased in a buttery pastry crust. The ultimate comfort on a cold winter’s day? It certainly gets our vote. After some rigorous taste-testing of the real thing (all in the name of authenticity, of course), we reimagined it in drinkable form in this hot chocolate recipe.
 
What does our apple pie hot chocolate taste like? That first sip unveils the comforting taste of baked apples – a not-too-sweet flavour that lingers on the palate. This is complemented by soothing notes of baked pastry and our mellow caramel-milk chocolate. The combination of these three flavour profiles is how our chocolatiers created a recipe that delivers that unmistakeable fresh-from-the-oven, baked apple pie taste. Apple pie that’s golden in colour, bubbling hot, ready to be sliced and served. Yum.
 
For best results, make your apple pie hot chocolate in the Velvetiser™. Just add your choice of milk or dairy alternative, plus drinking chocolate flakes, to our in-home, barista-grade hot chocolate machine. Press the button and it will meld them together to create a cup of velvety, drinkable apple pie infused with comforting caramel-milk chocolate.
 
This box of apple pie hot chocolate includes 10 sachets. Plenty to share (or keep all to yourself) during cosy nights in, or to warm up with after a chilly winter’s walk. Our apple pie drinking chocolate can also be enjoyed cold (simply pour it over ice, along with chilled milk) for a comforting yet refreshing cooler.
 
INSTRUCTIONS – HOT CHOCOLATE
1. Pour 220ml milk* into your Velvetiser™.
2. Sprinkle in the chocolate flakes from a single-serve sachet.
3. Press the button and let the Velvetiser™ work its magic.
 
INSTRUCTIONS – ICED CHOCOLATE
1. Fill half a glass with 100ml milk* and a generous amount of ice. Leave to chill.
2. Add 120ml milk* and the chocolate flakes from a single-serve sachet into your Velvetiser™.
3. Pour the velvetised chocolate into your iced milk, watch it meld. Stir well, savour.
