Where did Supermilk chocolate come from?

Whilst the humble cacao bean has been around for centuries, we’d like to take credit for the creation of the Supermilk chocolate — available in our smooth, snappable Batons and an array of pralines and truffles.

We noticed that the deep flavour of cacao had been lost in milk chocolate, which had (and continues to) become overloaded with sugar. This is because sugar is far cheaper than cacao, and this rich, unique flavour has gradually been lost amidst the high sugar content of regular chocolate bars.

We knew there must be a way to retain the quality flavours of cacao without compromising on the sweetness of milk chocolate that so many people know and love. And that’s when we pioneered the world’s first single cote chocolate bar. Inspired by this particular chocolate bar, we sought to develop a high-cacao milk chocolate, reducing sugar while increasing the cacao content. Our concept gained traction, and a dedicated fan club emerged, recognising the premium quality and all-important creamy cacao hit of this unique dark milk chocolate.

The increased amount of cacao present in our Supermilk chocolate is what sets it apart. With a cacao content of 65%, Supermilk rivals the levels typically found in dark chocolate. More cacao means less sugar, resulting in an indulgence that satisfies chocolate cravings without overloading on the sweet stuff.

Moverover, because it contains milk, our Supermilk chocolate has a melt-in-the-mouth creaminess and mellow flavour profile. This makes it perfect for those who want to experience the nuanced cacao flavours of dark chocolate but aren’t a fan of the bitter notes that can accompany it.
