Dark chocolate, but not how you expect it. You’ll find the deep flavours of cocoa you bargained on from a chocolate with such a high cocoa percentage, but it’s not harsh at all. In fact, the blend of cocoa beans we’ve chosen for this 90% Dark Chocolate Slab are surprisingly mellow, giving this chocolate bar a rounded richness.
Perfect to snap off and enjoy alongside a coffee, we’ve added just the right amount of cocoa butter to give this chocolate a gorgeous melt that releases all the flavours of the cocoa.
We wanted the complex flavours of the cocoa bean to shine through in our chocolate slab, so we’ve added just a dash of sweetness - less than 10%. To give it a little more body, we used coconut sugar; a natural sugar extracted from the liquid sap of the flower of the coconut palm. Once the liquid has evaporated, the coconut sugar remains; a golden brown, granulated sugar that retains some nutrients from the coconut palm itself.
Surprisingly, it doesn’t taste like coconut - it has a similar flavour to brown sugar, offering a slightly malty, caramelised taste. Our cocoa plants - from which we directly make some of our chocolate - grow alongside the coconuts and are warmed by the equatorial sun and refreshed from tropical downpours, the perfect conditions for sweet coconuts and flavourful cocoa.

We believe our dark chocolate is suitable for vegans, however as it is made in the same environment as our milk chocolate we cannot guarantee it is free from milk traces.
