Introducing our Salted Caramel Cream for grown-ups: caramel creamed with a dash of salt, in a high-cocoa caramel cup. We’re proud of our sophisticated twist on this childhood favourite - be reassured this treasured delight will comfort and soothe as a caramel should!
Salted caramel was invented by Henri Le Roux, a Breton chocolatier and caramélier, whose experimentation with the mixing of sweet and salty, the two flavours we crave most, soon became a national favourite. It took a while for salted caramel to enter the mass market, but by the early 21st Century it could be found across the globe.
Our recipe combines the two faces of caramel here: edgy with salt, and gentle with cream. The touch of natural sea salt cuts the sweetness of the caramel, accentuating those malty caramel flavours. The addition of cream adds a velvety texture to the caramel.
We’ve encased our salted cream caramel in 65% cocoa caramel chocolate minidomes. The high cocoa content chocolate allows definite cacao notes to shine through, without overwhelming the flavours of mellow caramel.
