ART MEETS ENGINEERING

Revolutionary and beautiful. This was our vision for the ALL-NEW Velvetiser®. We obsessively imagined and refined every element, drawing inspiration from nature and our own cacao farm for a system as captivating as the drink it creates.

INSPIRED BY NATURE

Every part of the Velvetiser calls back to nature – and the cacao that inspires us. Rounded and never quite symmetrical, its gentle irregularities reflect proportions and balance found in the natural world.

INNOVATIVE SIMPLICITY

The Velvetiser’s handle is crafted from sustainably sourced solid ash with a smooth, organically inspired shape for effortless left- and right-hand pouring at any angle.

ART MEETS ENGINEERING

nspired by cacao flowers and their resulting cacao pods, the whisk’s petals and InnerPod ridges work in harmony to deliver velvet-smooth results.

FINAL FLOURISHES

Equal parts functional and beautiful, the Velvetiser’s fluted design is modelled after the shape of a growing cacao pod and crafted in steel.

COLLABORATIVE CREATIVITY

We worked with renowned ceramicist Andrew Wicks to conceptualise the design of the Velvetiser, Podcup™ and Podglass™, drawing inspiration from our intrinsic knowledge of cacao.

“Nature’s the most amazing designer and so I looked to the organic shape of cacao when coming up with the elegant, minimalist style. I was set on achieving a simple, handmade quality too – a complete contrast to typical modern kitchen appliances.”

– Andrew Wicks, Ceramic Designer, MA – Royal College of Art London

“I designed probably 40-50 thrown forms where I did various surface textures, carvings, more sketches, designs and more thrown prototypes. It was quite a long process, but very satisfying to finally come up with a product that is still going strong today.”

– Andrew Wicks on the design of the Podcup.
