Every month new votes for zesty cheesecakes, award-winning brandy and molten caramels tipped the balance. In the race towards the end of the year, bright new stars jostled for position and old favourites were toppled. Finally, the results are in – and you can taste them all here.
It all starts in our Inventing Room in Cambridgeshire. Our chocolatiers line up trays of delicate truffles, gooey caramels and more for judging by our panellists each week, chaired religiously since the very beginning by Angus, CEO and Tasting Club founder. Here tastes are tweaked – “A touch more mascarpone. And can we try the Ghanaian cocoa?” – votes are cast and it’s decided which recipes are worthy of a place in your next Tasting Club box.
We know you’ll notice the crunch of Piedmont hazelnuts and appreciate the tang of real pressed raspberries. You’re our best judges and we take your opinions seriously: we collate and count them, and they steer us on our mission to create the best chocolates on the planet.
We examine your scores to discern the champions, filtering into award categories, from Best Caramel to Best Praline. Like all good awards, there is one most coveted overall title: Supreme Champion. Consistently rated 5/5 and the highest average scorer, it’s the pinnacle of our recipes.
