Key Objectives

  • Define and deliver the internal training and development interventions required to support the people strategy.
  • Develop and promote a culture of continuous development throughout the organisation.
  • Line management responsibilities for T&D Co-ordinator.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

  • With the Head of HR create, deliver and continually evolve the training and development plan to support the overall people strategy.
  • Design, develop and manage appropriate appraisal processes ensuring that they become embedded as live, practical development tools that support the overall business objectives.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure robust induction programmes are in place and are delivered for new joiners at all levels of the organisation.
  • Develop the Immersion events to provide a timely and effective experience of our core business to agreed key roles.
  • Work with the HR Manager and Heads of Department to maintain up to date and business relevant training needs analyses that support succession plans and the talent management programme.
  • Create, deliver and evolve management development programmes appropriate to the business needs.
  • Ownership of the internal School of Chocolate programme and other activities to drive our cocoa credentials.
  • Development and ownership of relationships with external qualification providers (eg NVQ) that support our people plans.
  • Development and delivery of routes to learning including on-job, classroom, e-learning, self-led etc
  • Manage all T&D and other associated costs in line with the budget and business performance.
  • Report on agreed KPIs with a focus on demonstrating R.O.I. for training and development activities to inform ongoing plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a training and development role
  • Minimum of two years in a management function
  • Appropriate professional qualification in learning and development
  • Background in retail, hospitality and/or FMCG environments
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Resourceful, high-energy, flexible and pragmatic
  • Passionate
  • A role model with ability to act as a brand and culture ambassador
